"What yarn weight do I need?" 🧶

It's the question we get more than any other, so here's the complete chart to save.

The tricky part is that patterns from different countries all use different names. A US pattern says "worsted," a UK one says "aran," an Australian one says "10-ply," and they're all the same thing. This chart translates them all, so no matter where your pattern comes from, you'll know exactly what to reach for.

Every shop has a beginning. Here's ours. 🧡

Back in 1991, we opened a small yarn shop in the busy streets of Sunnyside, Pretoria. The pavements were full, the city buzzed, and we started with one simple belief: look after people properly, and they'll always come back.

Years later, when Sunnyside changed and no longer felt safe, we decided it was time for a new home. So we came to Centurion and built this store from scratch. Every shelf, every wall, every corner of it, shaped by our own hands and a lot of late nights. It wasn't easy, but it was ours.

This has always been a family. Our children grew up between these shelves, learning the trade the way you learn anything that matters, by living it. Some of them still work here today.

We're not perfect. We make mistakes, and we learn from them. But 30 years on, one thing has never changed: how we treat the person who walks through our door. With patience. With respect. And always ready to go one step further to help.

Thank you for being part of our story. Here's to many more years. 🧶
