📣 BACK ON THE SNUFFELS SOAPBOX! 🇿🇦❤️
Whoever said South Africans don’t want to work, or don’t know HOW to work, clearly hasn’t seen our Snuffels team in action! 💪 What an incredibly talented, hardworking and committed bunch of humans!
Yes, we have our moments. What family doesn’t?! 😂 But these guys SHOW UP. They work hard. They care. Each brings their own skills, dreams and aspirations for a better life.
And I’m incredibly proud of them! ❤️
Our philosophy is pretty simple:
1️⃣ THERE IS NO BUSINESS WITHOUT OUR PEOPLE. Every role matters. Every contribution is mission-critical.
2️⃣ THINK LIKE AN OWNER. We share the numbers, explain decisions and involve our team in the bigger picture. Understanding the WHY changes the HOW.
3️⃣ CELEBRATE WHAT PEOPLE DO RIGHT. Recognise effort, reward initiative and catch people doing GOOD things!
4️⃣ NO CHARITY. PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY. We believe in earned rewards and shared responsibility. Keep the kitchen clean? We supply morning bread. Keep the vehicles clean? Enjoy your music. Simple agreements. Effort and reward.
5️⃣ NEVER ASSUME EVERYONE STARTS FROM THE SAME PLACE. When I’m sick, I see a doctor, get medication and climb into my warm bed with chicken soup. For someone else, it might mean queuing outside a clinic before sunrise and choosing between medication and supper. Same illness. Very different realities. Empathy matters.
6️⃣ RESPECT GOES BOTH WAYS. We expect honesty, accountability and effort. Our team deserves exactly the same from us.
7️⃣ MISTAKES ARE FOR LEARNING. We don’t expect perfection. We expect progress.
8️⃣ BUILD PEOPLE, NOT JUST A BUSINESS. If someone leaves Snuffels with more skills, confidence and opportunities than when they arrived, we’ve succeeded.
🇿🇦 I simply don’t buy the narrative that South Africans don’t want to work.
I believe people flourish when given opportunity, responsibility, respect and a reason to care.
We’re far from perfect. We’re learning as we go. And sometimes our little Snuffels family drives each other absolutely nuts! 😂
But goodness, I’m proud of what we’re building TOGETHER.
