Hobart's Salamanca Market will shift to a Sunday for the first time this year out of respect for Anzac Day, which falls on Saturday, April 25.

The market will run Sunday April 26 from 8:30am to 3:00pm, with up to 200 stalls expected.

Road closures on Salamanca Place will be in place from 5:30am to 6:00pm.

"We are planning a more relaxed Sunday vibe, which should be ideal for families often busy with sports and other activities on Saturdays," Lord Mayor Anna Reynolds said.

Stallholders Association president Nadia Calvert said the rare Sunday session would offer "a softer more intimate feel" with extra entertainment.
