Our first ever Make & Take stained glass suncatcher session happened yesterday and it was a lot of fun! It was created as a way for people with some stained glass experience to try making a suncatcher or for people with zero stained glass experience to get a feel for part of the process. All the glass pieces were pre cut on our Wazer Waterjet. The critical detail in making one of these suncatchers is to start and stop the copper foil on the inside of each piece of glass. Having the overlap of foil on the outside is less than ideal as the overlapped foil can lift when tinned, creating problems.

You're probably wondering how we got into this situation.
Well, Oceanside dropped the Rack Pack program in 2026 and developed a new replacement concept, the OG Sampler. The same wooden crate with 80 square foot sheets, but with a deliberately better selection and variety of colourful glass. We were a little hesitant when they first came onto the market, only getting four Samplers, but were won over quickly by how nice the glass in them was. We got eight more and they are getting snatched up fast! So we got eight more. There are now thirteen crates filled with awesome Oceanside Compatible glass. Well over one thousand sheets for your consideration in your next stained or fused or mosaic glass project.

Listral D! A 4mm Clear Architectural glass with a tiny square pattern texture. Ideal for any geometric design. We now have fifty square feet of it as we had to special request a full sheet of it, which was 100 inches by 72 inches. It was quartered to fit into a standard wooden crate. Why do we have so much? That is a story for another day.......

More fabulous CBS Dichroic coated full sheets of glass arrived recently! Oceanside Atlantis with two different Coatings, Clear Rainwater with Rainbow2, Thin Black with 3/4" Tropical Rays with Mixture coating and vintage Spectrum Gray Barnwood with Rainbow1 coating. These have all since been cut down into Quarter Circles and 2" by 4" rectangles for your next projects with warm or cold glass applications. Enjoy!

Ryan is at it again. Which is a good thing as that is what he is really good at doing. This time he is working up a leaded panel with some flowers. This client really wanted Pink flowers. The brightest pink we had was Youghiogheny Glass Y96-7007 Pink Opal. They loved it and were fine with the bump in the bottom line as this beautiful glass is made with gold to achieve that stunning pink colour.

Please enjoy the last of the vintage Armstrong art glass that arrived up here in Ottawa recently. There are some nice colour combinations here, stuff you do not see every day. Again, this is the last of this glass, we cannot get more without a time machine, and a DeLorean is not ideal for moving crates of heavy glass around.

The improved selection of these Samplers is incredible, so many options!

Kevin was having a much needed mid day nap out on the open floor space when he was awoken by The Boss. He was dreaming there was a need for more glass to fill this space. He wandered to the Loading Dock and realized that is was not a dream. Eight more of the super fantastic Oceanside OG Sampler crates did arrive and were being sorted out as quickly as possible. They are all out front now, so get some of the great colour offerings!
