A little re cap of May and June so far— My mom pulled up to our Airbnb with her After Dark deck and honestly? That’s the energy. Just chaotic hilarious convos, lots of laughs, a lovely way to spend some down time and such an appreciated gesture.

Spontaneous tattoos and delicious food at . If you’re ever in PG area the food, cocktails, everything there was just incredible. Fresh air, touching moss + repping because nature is deeply, unapologetically sexy + a necessary reset.

No notes. Just in love with all of this. So grateful for the celebrations, micro adventures, aaaaand squeezing some down time in there. 😌

When starting a seggsual health and wellness business turns into helping pay for your degree. Officially done my BSc. Psychology + minor in Political Science and what an enlightening, challenging, stressful, and equally rewarding ride.

The things that got me through:
• The insanely inspiring women in these spaces who are fearlessly blazing the trail for us all. Learning from their wealth of knowledge, wisdom, activism and being in awe of their unwavering commit to social justice and collective liberation.

• Giving myself more grace, credit, and self compassion + working on managing stress.

• Scheduling and prioritizing pleasure, play, joy, crafting, and creating like it was my day job. Treating them not as luxuries but as serious necessities. I’ve been so inspired by the work of and her book Pleasure Activism. It radically changed my relationship to pleasure and joy.

• Heating pads, muscle relaxant, and all the products from hot tubs, saunas, + mind numbing reality shows like love is blind and love on the spectrum.

• Leaning on support systems, speaking up, reaching out, being vulnerable, sharing, learning and talking more about endo + chronic pain, stress and struggles.

• Taking a realistic inventory of my spoons (thanks to learning about spoon theory) + finally realizing I can’t do it all. Still ambitious!! Just not at the expense of my mental and physical health and wellbeing.

• The emotional, moral + academic support from profs, faculty, tutors, my fam jam, friends and so many others. The humans who read my very long, dry essays, listened to me rant about statistics, and brainstorm topics. Every ‘you got this’ and ‘how did your exam go’ text meant the world and really kept me going. 🥹🫶🏼

Happy international women’s day. And by that we mean:
Reproductive rights and justice, for all.
Consent culture.
Not being reduced to one single identity.
Closing the pleasure gap.
The right to safety and autonomy.
Believing survivors.
Seggs work is work.
Addressing the gender bias in research and STEM that disproportionately affects women’s health.
Micro acts of feminism: giving women credit for the work/idea/labour/logistics and telling men smile more.
Gender equality and equal rights, for all.

-> Facts
(TW: mention of IPV / GBV / SA / Violence)

• Women represent only 28.8% of top leadership positions, despite comprising 41.2% of the global workforce (WEF, Global Gender Gap Report 2025)

• Nearly 1 in 3 women – estimated 840 million globally – have experienced partner or sexual violence during their lifetime (Violence against Women Prevalence Estimates, WHO, 2023)

• No country in the world has reached full legal equality for women and girls. From protection against gender-based violence to equal pay, women and girls remain unequal under the law. (United Nations Secretary-General’s report, “Ensuring and Strengthening Access to Justice for All Women and Girls).

In Canada
• The ongoing genocide against Indigenous peoples— MMIWG: The grassroots movement raising awareness of the disproportionate violence against Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit+ individuals represents a national crisis rooted in colonial systems and ongoing inequities (nwac.ca).

• 6 in 10 Indigenous women have experienced some form of IPV in their lifetimes (Loanna Heidinger, Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics, 2021).

• Indigenous women are 16x more likely to experience violence (National Inquiry’s Final Report, 2019).

• Women with a disability are 3x more likely to experience violent victimization than women without (Adam Cotter, Statistics Canada, 2021).

• Two Spirit, trans, and non-binary people are at highest risk of gender based violence (Adam Cotter, Statistics Canada, 2021).

• 1 in 3 women globally will expierence physical or SV in their lifetime (WHO, 2021).

From groceries, to hands, babies, and relationships, to dreams, aspirations, failures, and heartbreaks. To the women holding it down, holding others up, holding it together, holding on to hope. You are the glue sending ripples of strength to the rest of this world.
