Pop in to see us and reserve a Memory Bag 🧡

Memory Bags are a portable collection of items, books, and activities for individuals or groups to share. The bags and their contents aim to promote conversations between people with memory loss and their family and friends.

The bags are aimed at people in the early stages of memory loss and are free to loan for three weeks, with no overdue fees.

North Yorkshire Libraries’ Adult Reading Challenge is here - and it’s your perfect excuse to discover brilliant books your way!
Whether you're a lifelong reader or just getting into the habit, this challenge is fun, easy, and packed with prizes. 🏆
Anyone can join. All you need to do is pick up an entry form from the library and read or listen to 4 items borrowed from any North Yorkshire library or our digital library. Choose one item for each category:
☑️ A non fiction book about a hobby or interest
☑️ A book under 250 pages
☑️ Re-read a book you’ve loved before
☑️ Something published in 2025
It’s as simple as that!
Hand in your completed entry form to the library by 12th April 2026 and you’ll be entered into our VIP prize draw to win a coveted hamper packed full of hand-picked treats and vouchers! 🎁
