Friday 01.30: Pleaser
Pleaser are “Dark, cute and cool”. The band projects he catchy viciousness associated with original punk rock, a dark convoluted-ness of certain kinds of metal - and yet an earthiness and willingness to explore that harkens back to earlier forms of rock music and all the way up to a current experimental music scene.

Saturday 01.30: Steröid
Emerging from the Sydney punk scene alongside bands such as Gee Tee, R.M.F.C., and Tee Vee Repairmann, and with large side of Egg punk accompanying their NWOBHM bacon (also maybe the beans in this messy breakfast are AOR?… I think we might be overreaching with this metaphor). Steröid are ready to rock the main stage with more thunderous aplomb than an atom bomb, hard-boiled and clad in chainmail ripping blisteringly hot rockin’ riffs all night long.

Crypt of the Wizard are proud to present Scimitar - Scimitarium II on vinyl and digital formats. Available Friday March 24th 2026 to coincide with their UK tour, alongside an overdue repress of the sold out debut.

Hot on the heels of their debut LP Scimitar return with a lightning fast follow up simply entitled Scimitarium II.
Formed in 2024 by veterans of Copenhagen’s underground music scene including members of Slaegt, Gam, and Shaam Laerin, Scimitar released their debut LP in February 2025 to wide acclaim. Arriving as a fully formed force of nature with an album far beyond the reach and scope of bands significantly deeper in their discographies. It should come as no surprise that their follow up drinks even deeper from the same well of riches as their first effort. Somehow, this time around, there is more light in the dark, although the glimmers and rays only serve to amplify the heaviness of the utter pitch blackness.

Opening itself up in a wrenching moment of becoming, Scimitatium II begins like an infernal piece of machinery, a vast, complex engine of sound slowly but steadily finding its inexorable pace until vocalist Shaam A’s voice breaks upon its nascent rhythms like glass. Once velocity is reached there is seemingly no stopping this breathless journey as its angular guitar lines narrowly wend themselves through cavernous tunnels leaving echoing tendrils in their wake, all while the frantic rhythm section threatens to shake the whole damn thing to pieces.
The flaming Scimitar is born of smoke and ash, and mystic flame burning itself brightly for ritual rebirth; a self immolating operation capable of incredible creation and terrible destruction.

Who knows where the time goes?
A week has already passed since the start of Life After Death 333 and we all feel like our feet are just about back on the ground. I truly hope you all had as good a time as we all did!

Please join me in thanking Sophie, Russell, Josh, Liam, Leslie, Andrew, and Stan for holding the whole thing down. Without them the whole festival would be naught but dreams. Also to the whole Walthamstow Trades Hall crew Claire, Dean, Jim et al. Best venue in the world! Thanks to Greg and Zach for the delicious burgers. And of course thank you to all the bands and artists who performed for us, I have no idea where to begin in devising a line up as great as this one.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, your ongoing support and enthusiasm makes all the work worthwhile.
