I am pretty much back to normal (🤪 ???) though still a little delicate.
I have no idea what on earth kind of cold/flu I had but it was horrendous and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Thank Goodness for steroids and antibiotics.
Saying that, I please ask customers to NOT come in the shop if they are sick. I have never appreciated being coughed on and Jonathon is the one who has to listen to me complaining about it when it happens. So, please, if you need the yarn that much, stay by the door, ask and I will fetch it for you. Don't wander around touching things, sniffling and blowing your nose.
Our Ratbag has health issues as a lot of you know. Some of my customers are undergoing cancer treatments and I can't afford to shut my shop when I get ill.
A shut shop means no money coming in, so bills don't get paid. Which sadly would mean that I have to close permanently. It's quite simple really.
I'm sorry that all turned into a bit of a rant. However, business is tough at the moment. I can't compete with online shops, or the Aldis of the world. When asked if I'll price match online prices then I'm afraid the answer will always be a no.
I am a small independent who sells good yarn for a good price. I will help if I can and more importantly I am an ear for people. I don't do rushing so I have the time to listen to people if they need to talk.
All I ask is that you aren't rude. I am not here for you, because you are having a bad day. If you are here to check colours so that you can go away and buy it online then please don't tell me that to my face. I am not here for the fun of it. I am here because I love Button Moon. I love what I do. I work hard to make it work. I get things wrong. I forget things sometimes. But it's just me here doing my best.
OK, moaning over. I've just had time in my misery of the last week to mull things over in my head.
To finish on a positive... The yarn sale has gone really well. Though we are now down to the last 3 days. It will be finishishing on Saturday.
So as time is ticking all bags will have an extra 10% off. Which means that they are all now 60% of the rrp.
