I've got a few new models to show off to you guys today. All three of these have pretty much been sat in cabinets waiting for me to get the light tent out so that they can be photographed! Poor things have been feeling rather rejected.

First is CRS Flòraidh. Flòraidh is a gorgeous AA foal in a pink decorator colour with a cute necklace of daisies around her neck. She was a wonderful gift from Donna at my baby shower (we both agreed that babies shouldn't have china horses so she can stay with me for now). Maybe when the baby is older they can take careful ownership of her. I love how delicate and pink she is.

The second two are also gifts. First we have the rearing Cob. This is a Mojo Tinker Gypsy Cob. I really like this model, he has such a delicate face and just looks like a good proper Cob. Named CRS Annual Mercury.

Second we have the CollectA Lipizzaner Mare - Spanish Walk. This one is growing on me, a nice model in an unusual pose. Named CRS Alexanders.

We've added fourteen new second hand models to the website, a real mix of models and something for everyone (when is there not). Let's have a look what we've got!

Tschiffely's Ride - Gato and Mancha. Available separately these were BreyerFest Limited Editions from 2016. I really like Gato he is one of my favourites from that year and this Mancha has nice straight legs (unlike my one that had to have some hot water spa treatment). Priced at £40 each.

4x Classic Bodies - Four Classic scale bodies including a Johar, Keen, Show Stock Horse and American Quarter Horse Stallion. All body condition but great for customising or play. £12 each.

3x Mini Whinnie Barn Surprise models - Cyclone, Handsome and Jag. Great for customising or to add to your own collection if you'd prefer to just buy the model you want and not have a surprise! £4 each.

Best of BreyerFest Series 3 - again each model is available separately. Five Stablemate scale models that were only available at BreyerFest 2022. Includes Schumacher, Radler, Linzer, Maifeld and Muller. £25 each.

All are listed on the website now - be quick! Several of these are bound to sell quickly :D

Look who arrived! I am super excited about this new arrival. This gorgeous model is the Breyer Collector's Club Special Run 'Buenos Aires'.

I don't normally enter for Collector's Club models unless I actually want them, and trust me I wanted this one! The Polo Pony variation of the Smarty Jones mould is one of my favourite mould variations. I love a hogged mane and I love a Polo Pony so this guy was always going to be a firm favourite.

I was absolutely delighted to be picked and after a little bit of an adventure of his way to me he eventually arrived yesterday. He is absolutely stunning in person, pictures cannot do him justice, he is just perfect.

Named CRS Don't Cry For Me Argentina (because how could I not).

Two beautiful new completed resins that I've finished over the last few days.

First is Shepherd of My Soul - this is a lovely medallion that has been painted to a bay sabino with a very expressive eye and dramatic white markings. Sculpted by E. Cowking but not sure of the actual name of the medallion - do let me know if you know!

Secondly we have CRS Crowberry (Caroline). Caroline is a CF Micro Pewter Exmoor that has been painted to a lovely bay pangare. I've had these little guys for so long but haven't actually gotten around to painting them! Glad to have one done at least! She's a super cute little girl.

Shepherd of my Soul will be looking for a new home and is available on the website now. Caroline is staying here with me as part of my collection.

🌈 It's Pride Month which can only mean one thing - an excuse to share some of my favourite rainbow models 🌈

I may have gotten a little over excited and included quite a few models in this post! Turns out I have a lot of rainbows, I even included my rainbow Circus Costume which I love so much. There are some resins, chinas, customs, OFs and even the odd My Little Pony because rainbow manes and tails are awesome!

Which is your favourite?

Make sure to also share some pics of your rainbow models below

Looking for a new and unusual customising project? Then why not have a go at painting some clearware models

Here you can see the effects produced by four different paints that you may already have - or could acquire easily!

🎨 Watered Down Acrylic 🎨

If you are used to using acrylic paints to customise you can water these down to produce a thinner finish. Here you can see some watered down purple. It will take a few layers to get a more solid look, or you could keep the watered down look you can see here

🎨 Watercolours 🎨

Watercolours are a good option if you want something that works well watered down. I am using Stuart Semple's watercolour set which is very rich in pigment. Again you may want a couple of layers to create a more solid finish

🎨 Suncatcher Paints 🎨

If you are looking to have a go at painting clearware the Breyer Suncatcher Stablemates craft kit might be a good option. This horse has been painted with those paints and you can see it gives a good finish.

🎨 Acrylic 🎨

Non-watered down acrylic will block the light and so can be used to create effects on your model. Here you can see it has been used to create spots on the model. I also find metallic ones can work very well. Remember the acrylic will be visible from the other side (look at the foal) so try to mirror patterns or think about how they will appear from both sides

Have you had a go at painting some clearware models? Share some pictures below!

(also I'm now going to have to finish painting that Alborozo Stablemate)!

If you're thinking of adding Betsy and Ross to your herd you might want to think about how to display them best at shows. Clearware models are no different to other models in that where you place them on the table can make a real difference to how well they show. I think it matters even more for clearware models as you want the light to show your model off to the best of its abilities.

When looking for a space on the table think about where the light is coming from. Having the light shine through a clearware model will really show off their colour. Take a look at the two models shown here, not how, because of the light you can really see the detail on Under the Sea, something that is often hidden if there is no light shining through the model. Whilst with Patriot you can hardly see the stars across his quarters and body.

Are you thinking of adding Betsy and Ross to your herd this year?

Today we are talking clearware models

Clearware is a super cool type of model where the plastic is left 'clear' aka transparent and then paint is applied (or they are cast in a translucent coloured plastic) to create a really cool finish. This means that light can shine through them creating some stunning effects.

People even love to customise using this technique which is so fun! If you want to have a go Breyer produce a Suncatcher Stablemate craft kit which allows you to make your own clearware customs. You can see two of my attempts using this kit at the end of the photos on this post.

Clearware does have some downsides, the first and most obvious is that it allows you to see the joins within the model which means the finish isn't always as neat as you'd like. Secondly, they do depend on lighting, at some shows the light hits them just right and they look stunning, at others it just doesn't quite work. This also means when photographing them you may want to try and create a light source from behind to really show off their colour.

I've picked out a selection of clearware models here to give you an idea of the real range of colours you can see and how some of the different effects work.

Here is a run down of the models featured:

1. CRS Moksha (Chroma) - 2020 Breyer Stablemate Club Chroma
2. CRS Skandhas (Cadbury) - 2020 Copperfox Purple Irish Sport Horse
3. CRS Mask of Sanity (Twinkle) - 2019-2021 Breyer Regular Run Twinkle
4. CRS Mahayana (Poppy) - 2020 Copperfox Poppy
