Same club head but change of shaft 🔄

As we take a look into this fitting, the player was happy with the club head. However, the main difference was the change of shaft

The previous shaft model was a 60g stiff flex which is designed to produce lower ball flights and generate less spin. When taking into account ball flight from both fitting and on-course review, there was a big change needed

💭 So what was the outcome?

A 50g Regular Flex shaft was swapped out designed to generate a higher ball flight and maintain spin for the golf ball to stay in the air slightly longer. The previous shaft had a lower launch and spin profile which resulted in the ball nosediving mid flight ✈️

As we looked at the data by using Foresight Sports Europe there was a gain in all areas from speed, to launch and further total numbers 📈

Titleist UK & Ireland GTS Fairway Woods Don’t mess around! 😮

In this fitting we see a jump in ball speeds with both 3 wood and 7 woods for this player. After discussing where each club will be used within the bag and what ball flight they would want to see, we had a look at 2 different GTS models.

The 3 wood was a GTS3 model where the face sits deeper, this allows for more tee shot uses which was what the player was looking for whilst still being able to maintain launch and Speed to optimise their ball flight.

The 7 wood was slightly different as they wanted a higher launching and more forgiving, for this one we looked at the GTS2 model as it’s much easier to launch due to the shallower head and can generate more spin + Control when then being compared to the current 3 Hybrid in the bag.

These products have been flying this year with their new chrome face design which can allow for a player to have more control over the club when setting up behind a ball.

Titleist GTS Fairways and GT Hybrids have been a stand out in our fitting bay over the last few weeks!

In this fit we see a gain in all areas of the 3 wood, with ball speed jumping up by 10 MPH and creating a much more aggressive flight. The Hybrid for the gapping in the bag was perfect as both 5+7 wood lacked in distance and the player having a preference of a hybrid look for the next club in the bag was the choice made.

With the new Chrome Face design this year on the GTS products, it has definitely allowed for more consistent control over the ball. It makes it much easier to launch consistently with giving the illusion of more loft on the club and can make squaring the face up much easier.

Back at the Titleist UK & Ireland European Tour Fitting Centre Woburn Golf Club today, continuing to develop my knowledge and experience in all aspects of custom fitting.

It was an incredible day gaining a deeper understanding of the full fitting process, from club fitting right through to ball fitting (definitely something every golfer should consider!!!)

A huge thank you to Jack Yetton and the Titleist team for the opportunity, the time and the knowledge shared throughout the day. Experiences like this are amazing and will only help me provide an even better custom fitting experiences for golfers in the future with our fitting services we have to offer.

Even managed to see THE club that Jordan Spieth had used for THAT famous shot from the Opens Driving Range a few years back and managed to meet Mr Medinah himself Ian Poulter 👌🏻

A great day at this years at Royal Birkdale, the experience was great for my first time at this event with a very early start for the first tee time and a long trip back to Northampton in the evening!

Many thanks for for the invite onto the brand new 2026 Tour Truck for this year, was a great experience to overlook how each club is individually made for any player this week (even without being a Titleist sponsorship!) and see the amount of shaft/head options that are available in one place.

It was even a great experience to get up close to some of the players on the tee boxes and seeing how golf should properly be played as well😂

A brand new combo set or Titleist T150/T250 irons for for the season. With huge gains made with flight, control and forgiveness with the more forgiving head in the 5 and 6 iron. Even with the 93MPH club head speed on a 7 iron!!!

This blended set has helped the player with Launch and control which more and more players are doing. The PGA tour average for a blended set of irons for 2026 is 76%!!! Even the best players in the world are looking for forgiveness 🤷‍♂️🤝

Why not look for a bit more forgiveness with your longer irons? 👀

Glad to have player in for a gapping session this week and getting to look at all loft/lies on clubs. All yardages were recorded from 58° to Driver for this years bag with our technology to measure strike, speed and even attack angle. We even had a little time to look at a new driver where Charlie gained 7MPH of ball speed! 🚀His reaction says it all 😂
