Workshop walkthrough at Barrel Built Designs 🔨✨

The prep for GreenGallery Craft Fair is officially underway and the workshop is full chaos, creativity, sawdust, and fresh builds. Been putting in the hours getting everything finished up for this weekend and I can’t wait to show you what’s coming with me.

Hi everyone — my name’s Michael, and I’m the face behind Barrel Built Designs, based right here in sunny Buchlyvie. ☀️🪵🥃

I create handcrafted furniture and home décor from authentic Scottish whisky barrels, giving each piece a new life while keeping all the character and history that makes them special. Every item is handmade by me, from fire pits and clocks to bespoke furniture and rustic home pieces.

When I’m not working as a full-time firefighter, you’ll usually find me in the workshop creating something new and enjoying the process of turning reclaimed materials into unique designs people can enjoy for years to come.

Today I’m on takeover duty for the Green Gallery, giving you a little insight into what I do, how Barrel Built Designs started, and some of the pieces I’ve been working on recently and a sneak peak@at some of the products that I’ll have with me next weekend ! Massive thanks to the Green Gallery for having me involved!
