Soot creeping up the wall above your stove? 😬 Try this before you open the door.

Hot Tips, Episode 3: James' door trick

1️⃣ Open the stove door just a crack
2️⃣ Give it 2–3 seconds to let the air draw in
3️⃣ Then open it fully

It lets the stove balance its air supply first, so no soot comes out, and there's no puff of ash when you close it back up 🔥

Our first warehouse? An old calf shed on James' family farm 🐄

After COVID, every shop we called into said "go on, we'll try them", and we ran out of room fast.

So James cleaned out the shed, pallets went in two high, and we borrowed a forklift from the local filling station 😅

Orders came in to a spare-bedroom office, then out to the shed with the docket.

That's when it clicked: this is actually happening. Next stop? An 8-acre site 👀

Our stove logs are going into Aldi this Sunday! But first, a thank you.

How to light a stove with kindling and firelighters, the easy way 🔥

𝗛𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀, 𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟮: some of us are naturals with kindling, and some of us… aren't 😅 Here's James' go-to method:

1️⃣ Make a nice bed of kindling
2️⃣ Add two individually wrapped firelighters
3️⃣ Snap one stove log in two and lay it on top
4️⃣ Light the firelighters and open the damper fully

Our firelighters are individually wrapped, so you just light the wrapper. No touching the cube, and they stay dry in the box.

From a Claremorris dairy farm to your stove: meet our co-founder James 🔥

He grew up in a busy house of 10 on Claremorris Dairies, where the family pasteurised and packaged their own milk. 🐄

Engineering took him to Australia, where he met Janet (as good as any engineer he's worked with, he says 😉).

Back home, with peat briquettes on the way out, Janet's dad set them a challenge: find something to replace them.

Our rule to this day: put quality in, get quality (and burn time) out. Spoken like a true engineer 🪵
