Today, the mountains feel a little quieter. 💔

We are heartbroken to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton, a true Appalachian treasure whose music, kindness, faith, humor, and generosity touched generations.

Dolly never forgot where she came from. From her humble beginnings in the Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee to becoming one of the most beloved entertainers in the world, she carried the spirit of Appalachia with her everywhere she went.

Her legacy is so much bigger than the songs we all know by heart. Through her generosity, her love for children, and her commitment to literacy through the Imagination Library, Dolly made life better for millions of people.

For those of us who call these mountains home, Dolly always felt like one of our own.

Rest easy, Dolly. Thank you for the music, the laughter, the kindness, and for always making Appalachia proud. 🕊️🤍
