Light roast or dark roast? ☕️ Let’s clear up the difference.
It’s not about the bean — it’s about the roast.
🌱 Light roast beans spend less time in the roaster, preserving more of their original characteristics. Expect brighter acidity, more nuanced flavors, and often fruity or floral notes.
🔥 Dark roast beans are roasted longer, bringing out deeper, bolder flavors like chocolate, caramel, and toasted notes. They typically have less perceived acidity and more of that classic rich, roasty flavor.
And one common misconception? Dark roast doesn’t automatically mean more caffeine. In fact, caffeine content is relatively similar between light and dark roasts, with brewing method and serving size playing a bigger role.
So which one is “better”?
That comes down to what you like in your cup.
Light, dark, or somewhere in between — what’s your roast of choice?
