Call for Artists! “Unlikely Pairs” coming September 2026

COMING THIS SEPTEMBER, THIRTY-ODD UNVEILS SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT FOR THEIR ARTISTS’ WALL: A REQUEST FOR ARTWORK.

AND WE’RE SEARCHING FOR UNLIKELY PAIRS.

STRIPES AND PLAIDS? MODERN AND VINTAGE? COLLAGE AND CLAY? ASPHALT AND FEATHERS?? PAST AND FUTURE? EVERYTHING AND NOTHING?

WHEN TWO IDEAS COME TOGETHER FROM DIFFERENT DISCIPLINES, THEY CAN DEFY EXPECTATIONS AND CAUSE FRICTION…AND FROM THAT TENSION SOMETHING EXCITING IS BORN.

WE’RE LOOKING FOR THAT INTERPLAY BETWEEN TWO IDEAS, TWO MEDIUMS, TWO DISCIPLINES…TWO PEOPLE?

THIS WILL BE A JURIED SHOW, FOR THE GALLERY WALL AT THIRTY-ODD FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER (INCLUDING ART HOP!).

ALL TYPES OF VISUAL ARTS WILL BE CONSIDERED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PAINTING & MIXED MEDIA, PHOTOGRAPHY & DIGITAL, AND SCULPTURE & 3D INSTALLATION. THERE IS A 12” X 12” SIZE LIMIT.

PLEASE SUBMIT BY MAY 1ST AND YOU WILL BE CONTACTED BY MAY 15TH WITH OUR DECISION. ACCEPTED WORK WILL NEED TO BE DROPPED OFF AT THIRTY-ODD AT THE END OF AUGUST.

ALL WORK WILL BE REPRESENTED BY THIRTY-ODD FOR THE DURATION OF THE SHOW (SEPTEMBER 1-30TH) AND ALL OUTSIDE INQUIRIES MUST BE FORWARDED TO THIRTY-ODD TO HANDLE THE SALE.

Mark your calendars for The Annual Soda Plant Holiday Bazaar Saturday Nov. 29th from 10-5pm in our historic building where creativity and community thrive!

Held in honor of Small Business Saturday, this event supports our local community by bringing together 30 talented guest makers, artists, and many small businesses under ONE roof. Creative vendors lining the halls, Soda Plant businesses open with exciting offerings! This Bazaar is a celebration of craftsmanship, connection, and the joy of shopping locally during the holiday season.

We invite you to come out and show your support! Take in what The Soda Plant has to offer this holiday season and year round!

The Soda Plant is located at 266 and 270 Pine St. Burlington, VT. There is additional parking in the southern “Kilburn Lot” and across the street at Curtis Lumber 🙂

We’ll have the best marshmallows in the world (in our opinion) provided by along with their smores/cocoa kits! There will be wreaths for birds, wreaths for humans, candles, witchy goods, body goods, hand woven scarves, pottery, jewelry, home decor, visual art, hair tinsel, the list goes on!

Vermont Foodbank is the states largest hunger-relief organization! They provide ~12 million pounds of food annually to people throughout Vermont.
