THE INFINITY FABRICATION BAY
A lot of you may not realize just how much we can actually make in-house at Infinity Game Lounge.
Every IGL location has access to our Fabrication Bay, and we’ve quietly been building an entire division around creating things specifically for the tabletop and gaming community.
Some of what we’re already making includes:
* Custom metal gaming tokens
* Metal Commander cards
* Custom challenge coins
* Custom dice
* Earrings and jewelry
* Custom mugs and drinkware
* Warhammer and other miniature proxies
* Custom waterslide decals for armies
* Resin and FDM printed miniatures, accessories, and parts
* Custom terrain and gaming accessories
* Statues and display pieces like the ones you see throughout our stores
* Shirts, hoodies, bags, leather goods, and other custom textile work
We’re also proud to carry Terrain J***y terrain, but we aren’t limited to what comes out of a box. If you have an idea for terrain they don’t make, bring it to us and let’s see what we can build.
And Fabrication Bay goes WAY beyond 3D printing.
Across our fabrication operation, we have 12 laser systems, including the ability to cut up to 1/2” steel, four 3-axis CNC machines, a 5-axis CNC, commercial FDM and resin printers, a cross-draft paint booth, full production powder coating, and a complete textile operation. We’ve even developed our own proprietary resin specifically for miniatures and statues.
I’ve just expanded the Fabrication Bay operation to almost 15,000 square feet, and we are HEAVILY invested in growing this division.
We now have an entire team focused specifically on Fabrication Bay.
And for those wondering, Nick Ahlers isn’t gone! We moved Nick over to run this division and focus on growing it. Uncle Craig and Ben are working hard alongside him to develop, prototype, and make new products that you haven’t seen yet.
So when you see these guys, pitch them your ideas.
Tell them what you wish existed. Tell them what your Commander deck needs. Tell them what would make your Warhammer army cooler. Show them something you’ve always wanted for your gaming table. Bring them the weird ideas.
Help them make the best products we possibly can for IGL under our Morthenheimers Exotics brand.
There’s another reason I want everyone to understand why we’re investing so much into this.
Fabrication Bay creates jobs.
It gives people opportunities to learn new and exciting trades and skills. It lets us invest in equipment and people who can actually make things. And, to be 100% transparent, it also has healthier margins that help make Infinity Game Lounge more sustainable.
When we sell a pack of TCG cards, our margin can sometimes be somewhere around 3–8%.
Think about that for a second.
It is incredibly difficult for any game store to survive long-term on margins like that. We love selling cards and we’re obviously never going to stop, but we also have to build other parts of the business if we want IGL to continue growing, creating jobs, hosting events, improving the stores, and being here for the community years from now.
So if you ever wonder:
“What can I do to help my game store grow?”
One of the best answers is simple:
USE THE FABRICATION BAY.
Need custom dice? Let us make them.
Need metal tokens or Commander cards? Talk to us.
Need challenge coins, mugs, apparel, decals, terrain, proxies, statues, jewelry, or something completely custom? Give our team a shot at it.
And please don’t think of Fabrication Bay as something that only makes gaming products.
Think of us for commercial work too.
When your company needs shirts, hoodies, employee merchandise, promotional products, awards, challenge coins, signage, custom fabrication, or branded merchandise, give us an opportunity to quote it.
The guys depending on those jobs will appreciate it.
Every project you send our way helps keep those machines running. It supports the people whose jobs depend on this division. It gives us opportunities to teach people valuable trades and skills. It allows us to keep investing in better equipment and new capabilities.
And ultimately, it makes Infinity Game Lounge more sustainable for the future.
The reality is, it’s rarely a question of whether we can design or build something.
It’s usually just a question of whether you want to pay for it.
