Playing around in the shop with some new ideas, and I might just be onto something with my own version of a Show jig 🤩🎣

I’m also continuing to work on the Leech, and I’ve been experimenting with this hackle. I’m really liking the extra look and movement it adds!

Well… I’m about to! 😂

With the salmon starting their annual fall run, I wanted to try something a little different. I decided to tie my own skein replication to see if I could create a convincing presentation that would fish well under a bobber.

This little guy is going to be under my float soon, and I’m excited to see what the salmon think of it! 👀🎣

Introducing the Squirrel Tail Hair Jig, geared specifically for walleyes!

These were an absolute blast to create and build, but there’s just something about these squirrel patterns… 😳🎣

This custom creation is headed to Illinois, and I have a feeling it’s going to put some walleyes in the boat!
My friend and customer had a vision. He sent me some of his own products, including squirrel tails from animals he harvested himself, and this is what we came up with.
That’s what I love about building custom
tackle - you bring me the vision, and I get to bring it to life.

All the hype around these plastic urchin baits has me thinking… 🤔
What if we took that concept and created a hair jig variation for walleyes?
Well, here’s my first attempt! 🔥
I’m thinking it could use a strip of copper tinsel to add a little extra flash in the dark water of Lake Winnebago. I am also trying different options for material, versus the common plastic skirts being used to build variations.

But before I make any changes, I want to hear what you guys think..
Would you throw this jig? 🎣

This one is built on a Ned-head style jig, a
1/4 oz, heavy-wire Owner hook, black bucktail, chartreuse hackle, and black thread.

Different? Absolutely.

But sometimes different is exactly what it takes to trigger a fish that has seen the same old presentation a thousand times.

There’s nothing better as a custom tackle builder than receiving photos from customers who are putting trophy walleyes in the boat on your tackle! 🎣
The Twisted Shiner has been putting in some serious work for one of my recent customers out on the Bay.
He sent me a few pictures, and of course, I had to share this beautiful 30” walleye with the Twisted Shiner still right in its mouth! 🔥

He was fishing a 3/8 oz Purple & Gold Twisted Shiner, paired with a Slow Death hook and tipped with a night crawler.

Big congratulations on a couple beautiful walleyes, and thanks for trusting my tackle! I sure appreciate the pictures as well 😉🎣
