This year, we are doing something a little different and celebrating in a big way on one day, and you’re invited! Hi Chocolate Friend,

Traffic here tells us everyone is back in school and so are we! Yup, your team at Choco leʻa is always learning and whether we’ve been doing this for 10, 3, or 14 years, like any other job or hobby, there’s always more we can grow!

Recently, our team had the opportunity to visit our printing partners at Edward Enterprises for a private educational tour of their production process, including our boxes and packaging that we have made with them since 2014!

Our own Production Manager and Artisan Chocolatier, Tori, was sent to school in Chicago at the Chocolate Academy after receiving her degree in culinary. And with 10 years of experience and counting, has mastered chocolates, so is now getting bookkeeping skills in the books too!

Recently, our Artisan Chocolatier, Kotomi, completed the Ecole Chocolate Professional School of Chocolate Arts and received her certificate of achievement with honors for the Professional Chocolatier Program. We are so proud of her and she is excited to take another chocolate class soon!

And after one year, our very own seasonal hire, turned part-time shop now turning full-time kitchen gal, Lee-Ann, will be learning chocolates too in the coming years and we are so thrilled! Many of last year’s seasonal team are still with us and coming back for the upcoming holidays and we are hiring for ONE more! Interviews are starting for our long-term full time Operations Assistant position!

As for me, after a decade of studying, business, leadership, work behaviors, job satisfaction, motivation, and teams, for the past three of those years it has been towards a PhD in Organizational Psychology with Liberty University. I’m now entering the home stretch and will soon search for research participants to interview and hope to publish my dissertation after graduation next spring.

Whatever YOU are going to “school” for and learning, we hope you will continue to learn and lead with love and never stop trying to be better for yourself and for others.
