Fall fishing is fun! Saying goodbye to a nice brown trout on the Yellowstone a couple of days ago. The ‘Stone has been fishing great with dries, streamers, and nymphs. A change in the weather this weekend could Harold the fall blue-winged olive (baetis) mayfly emergence. Big run with small dries! Get out there ASAP!

It’s that time of year! Our huge annual fall sale starts today! You want bargains? How ‘bout 15% off everything in the shop? Need a new rod, reel, waders or boots? Want to stock up on flies, leaders, tippet? Yep, everything! The big sale runs through Oct. 31st, but you should visit us soon to make sure we’ve still got what you need!

FYI - don’t plan to use the Grey Owl fishing access on the Yellowstone River next Tuesday or Wednesday! Looking forward to improvements at the boat ramp!



The boat ramp at Grey Owl Fishing Access Site will be closed for repairs Oct. 6 and 7.

Other portions of Grey Owl FAS, including the parking lot, will remain open during this time. However, visitors are asked to avoid areas of construction at the boat ramp.

Grey Owl FAS is on the upper Yellowstone River about 2 miles northeast of Emigrant.

Hey, kids, our Kid’s club is back! Let’s go fly fishing! We’re going to try to catch some trout, and hopefully the weather will cooperate!

Join us at Sweetwater Fly Shop on Saturday, October 10th, 2-4 pm, for our always fun and free Kids Club! We’ll entertain and educate your youngsters with activities focused on fishing, fish, and conservation. Show some love for the fish!

Welcome to the Sweetwater Kid’s Club! It’s free fishy fun for all you kiddos (8-12 or so)! Get your folks to bring you to Sweetwater Fly Shop and we’ll take care of the rest. We’re planning some fun (and educational) activities and the more the merrier!
