After a month, the dust is settling…

Community Book Center was honored to return as the official 2026 Essence Festival of Culture, Book Partner after a 14 year hiatus. This was a full circle moment for us after first serving in this role at the festival’s inception in 1995. CBC developed the book experience at Essence for 17 years, and we were glad to bring that amazing experience back this year!

This moment was more than just a milestone for us. This was a testament of our faith, perseverance, and the true power of community.

To our family, friends, and supporters we are grateful for your continued support, prayers and encouragement.

A heartfelt thank you to the Black Bookstore Coalition BBC, the ATL A-Team, and the countless volunteers who showed up and showed out with excellence, passion, and purpose. We couldn’t have done it without you!!!

As we turn this page, we pray this marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with growth, collaboration, and expanded economic opportunities for New Orleans businesses and other cultural institutions.

Here’s to honoring our legacy while building an even brighter future together as one.

This is just a snapshot of an amazing weekend. Please feel free to share your favorite moments…
