Sunlight, sea air, and Sophia Loren, diving off the rocks of Hydra.

In the summer of 1957, Sophia Loren came to the island to film Boy on a Dolphin, the first film Hollywood ever shot in Greece, and her first English-language role. A glossy Aegean adventure full of romance and rivalry.

The film introduced Loren to the world, and Hydra with her. The harbour, the olive groves, the whitewashed houses rising up the hill, an island reached only by boat.

Nearly seventy years on, Hydra has a way of holding onto its summers. The warmth of the rocks, the blue of the water, the long golden afternoons.
