Known as the Guardians of the Seeds, these towering wooden trolls were created by world-famous Danish recycle artist Thomas Dambo, who builds his sculptures entirely from reclaimed wood and scrap materials. Some stretch 15 to 20 feet tall, blending into the forest like something out of a fairy tale.
Installed in 2021, the trolls are part of Dambo’s global mission to inspire people to reuse materials and protect nature. Each one has a unique personality and pose — peeking through trees, resting along trails, or towering above visitors who stumble upon them while exploring the gardens.
Finding all five has become a favorite adventure for visitors wandering the property’s 300 acres of themed gardens, wooded trails, sculptures, and water features. It’s part nature walk, part treasure hunt, and part magical photo opportunity.
