This past weekend we hosted another Learn to Play event! We maxed out the events seats and taught 15 players Ark Nova Sanctuary!

Learn to Play is a reoccurring event hosted typically on the last Saturday of each month from 7-10p. We select a game to feature and teach to new players! Open to adults and teens, entry is $5.
The featured game is also on sale (in-store only) at 20% off all month, while supplies lasts.

September’s event will be hosted on Saturday, Sept 26th at 7p. And we’ll be teaching: Three Sisters! We highly recommend signing up in advance to save a seat as this event frequently sells out!

About the Featured Game: First Giants
Age 10+ | 2-5 Players | 30 min | Released 2026
Main Mechanics: Tableau Building, Set Collection, Drafting
“In First Giants, players take on the role of paleontologists collecting the most beautiful fossils to display at their museum.
Choose which specimens to study and use their unique abilities before adding them to your collection.
Also, you must carefully decide when to exhibit your fossils since you will no longer benefit from their effects once on display. But wait too long, and you may miss out on the opportunity to score points!”

About Learn to Play:
• Each month we host a learn to play event run by friendly BHG staff! We select the game in advance then announce the following months game at the current months event as well as in our newsletter!
• Participants freely choose a table to join to learn and play the game. Attend solo or with others!
• Game Raffle! We raffle off the next month’s game at the current months event. All participants are entered into the raffle as part of entry.

If you are looking to tap into your inner sneaky raccoon, look no further than these two fun and cheeky games!

Trash Pandas: The Raucous Raccoon Card game
2 to 4 players, 20min, ages 8+
Roll a die to determine your actions, the more unique rolls the more actions you get but don’t push your luck and roll the same action side twice or you’ll lose your turn! Collect, steal, guard, and stash trash to earn the most points!

Lying, Cheating, Raccoons: The Ultimate Game of Deceit
2 to 6 players, 15 mins, ages 8+
Secretly roll your die under your trash can then either complete the action on your die truthfully OR lie and do another action! Use bluffing, and trickery to earn tokens. However, if you think someone is lying about their action, challenge them to see if you can catch them in the act!

A snapshot of our Learn to Play event featuring Azul Summer Pavilion! We had a great turn out with three full tables of players. The vibes were cozy and casual, the games were good, and folks had fun - the most important part. Thank you to everyone who attended June’s event!
