This really happened - we are gobsmacked, grateful, and giddy.
We absolutely love Tony and Josie's upcoming book, We Thought They'd Never Leave: Musings on Food and Family. We love it so much that we decided to have an authorless event on October 27th to celebrate its publication. We shared our plans with the good PR people at Simon and Schuster and in return we were gifted with this amazing message. Wow, just wow.
Here's what we're doing to celebrate this funny, heartwarming book about food, family, and growing up in Green Bay:
-Pre-orders will include a chocolate bar from Seroogy's Homemade Chocolates, the confectionary started by Tony's family in 1899
-The cafe will be cooking up a big pot of Booyah, a traditional up nort' chicken soup as our soup of the day
-Signed bookplates in each book
Put this book at the top of your holiday list - to give and receive. We cannot emphasize enough how charming it is, you may find yourself laughing, tearing up, and nodding in recognition - all on the same page.
Oh! There are recipes too, of course. From traditional Lebanese favorites to Josie's award-winning cherry pie, there is much goodness to be had (including the Booyah recipe). And, because Tony is one of ten children, they've thoughtfully added tips for feeding a crowd.
So, please join us for Booyan on October 27th, get your pre-orders submitted, and prepare yourself to fall in love with this wonderful book.
