It was a privilege to craft these benches for the new (NOW OPEN) Sumatran tiger exhibit at the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center. Local white oak paired with ebonized legs creates a timeless contrast designed to age gracefully alongside the exhibit itself.

There’s something special about creating work that becomes part of a community gathering place. These benches will simply be there. Supporting conversations, quiet moments, and memories for years to come. Grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of something that will be enjoyed by so many.

This month is National Foster Care Month, and it’s a cause that is deeply personal to us at Community Woodworking Co. Because of your support, we were able to make a donation to the Kansas Children's Discovery Center to help provide free memberships for foster families.

Fostering and adoption have personally shaped our family, and we are committed to continuing to support foster families and biological family reunification in meaningful ways. As part of our business model, a percentage of our yearly earnings goes back toward supporting foster care initiatives and organizations that care for vulnerable children and families in our community.

True to our name, the work we do is about more than building beautiful wood pieces — it’s about giving back into the community we’re proud to serve and live in.
