Now in our 21st year of business, Middle C Music is D.C's only full-service community music school and store that serves and promotes Washington musicians of all ages and skills. Our teachers are the absolute best musicians and educators that D.C. Many of our teachers are veterans of the Middle C family and have been here for more than 15 years. With 25+ teachers, there is certainly an instructor

for every musical need. As busy, working professionals in the music industry, our instructors frequent The Kennedy Center, the 9:30 Club, Wolf Trap, and other prestigious venues and festivals all across the United States, including on Broadway in New York City. They hold degrees from esteemed colleges and universities such as Berklee, Yale, and Brevard College. From 3 years old to retirement, we strive to bring quality music education to all ages. After studying with us, students frequently go on to enroll at top universities and conservatories across the U.S. to become professional, working musicians. We often host live shows, feature recordings of local artists in our shop, host jam sessions, and curate other performance opportunities for our students and teachers. We sell pianos, acoustic and electric guitars, basses, ukuleles, band and orchestra instruments, musical accessories, music-themed gifts, books on music, and more. If you're a band or orchestra student and not quite ready to purchase your own instrument, our rent-to-own inventory is the best in town. In addition to our collection of instruments, we're also home to a robust sheet music collection, including classical, film, pop, jazz, and broadway charts. In need of something unique? We can fill special orders from all major music publishers and many specialty companies. We repair all band and orchestra instruments, as well as guitars, basses, and ukuleles. Our helpful and friendly staff make sure that your instruments are well taken care of and most repairs are completed within a week. Repairs are either done on-site or in the studios of our qualified repair technicians.
