Don't forget, today at 5 pm at the Howell County Courthouse, SAR Josiah Howell Chapter will be reading our DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE then we're moving to Zizzer stadium for a lot of excitement! Today, July 8th is the 250th anniversary of when our DECLARATION of INDEPENDENCE was first read to the people! This is a free event and hope all that want to attend can make it out. We'll cap the night with a show in the sky!

On todays edition of, Countdown to the 4th, we're about an hour away from it!
I'm just getting in for the day and I'm kicking my shoes off on the porch and as I'm sitting here, I can hear some booms in the distance. As I sit here and listen and I wonder what my grandmothers were thinking 250 years ago as they listened to war in the distance knowing their husbands, sons, brothers and grandchildren were there fighting to have a country, I can't image the pride and terror all in one. So as we look at the first 250 years we've had together, please take a moment and think about the blood shed and the hardships endured just so we can have a country of free men. And thank you to all United States of America Veterans, you've kept our flag flying through it ALL!

As for a trivia question or giveaway, we've got around 100 t shirts left, we'll give them away tomorrow until we run out. So stop in and get one while you can!
