It’s been an alpaca toenail trimming kind of week! 🦙
We’ve been out and about meeting some lovely new alpacas and some familiar fluffies, for their January pedicures ☺️
A few facts about alpaca toenails for your Monday afternoon:
Alpacas have two very cute toes on each foot, with two very claw-like toenails on the end of them!
How often these nails need trimming depends on the alpaca (white alpaca nails tend to grow quickly!) and also how much time they are spending on hardstanding ground - a definite timesaver if you can let them wear them down themselves!
But in general, every few months it is good to have a check of the nails and the soft pad underneath as well, especially in this wet weather.
