It’s FINALLY time!

Over a year ago people started arriving asking for copies of the Gruffalo Granny. Understandably they were disappointed to hear it was a looooong time until it was published 😂

Ottolenghi is one of our all time family favourites; his recipes are ones that we go back to again and again.

Our Holmfirth Children’s Book Festival window is now in! We owe a huge thank you to the wonderful Nicola Slater who spent the day with us yesterday decorating the window with The Pumpkin Thief 🎃🐿️💛

Several lovely children were able to get their books signed yesterday but don’t worry if you missed out, Nicola and Alice will both be here for the book festival.

Join bestselling-selling author and illustrator duo of The Leaf Thief series, Alice Hemming and Nicola Slater, for session full of fun and hilarity. The latest instalment, The Pumpkin Thief, sees Squirrel and Bird return for another laugh-out-loud autumn adventure. Squirrel has grown some lovely pumpkins, but there’s soon a problem. The pumpkins keep disappearing! Squirrel is determined to catch the thief before Bird returns... Prepare for a captivating reading and interactive draw-along to get you in the autumnal and spooky spirit. Bring a pencil and some paper to take part in the draw-along!

When Coralie saves Adam’s daughter’s life one day at the local park, they strike up an instant connection. Adam (a single Dad and political writer) and Coralie (moved here from Australia and works in marketing) quickly become a couple and Coralie becomes part of the family. Set against the backdrop of the political ups and downs between 2013 and 2022, their lives become a rollercoaster and family tensions about the misdemeanours of political leaders, frequent changes of Prime Minister and Brexit are incredibly well captured in this sharp, funny and often moving story. Their lives are dictated by the pace of political change and it impacts on their ability to live happily.

This is a really poignant book which, despite the terrible cover, is incredibly clever and a brilliant read. This has now also been added to our 3 for £25 if you fancy trying it.
