Another Toffee Shop Tour…

This time, we headed less than a mile up the road to !

If you’re in the Lake District, or even passing by Penrith, this is another great option for Cumbrian produce, gifts and independent brands.

Whether you’re looking to treat yourself or shopping for others, Cranstons is a great option to pick up our handmade Cumbrian toffee and fudge.

Oh, and when you visit, you must head upstairs and try out 😍

But for those of you that are local, we don’t need to do any convincing! Any Cranston’s fans out there??

We’re thrilled to be part of the 50 year celebrations for Lloyd Motor Group and we absolutely love this special edition box, created to honour where the Lloyd journey began back in Cockermouth in 1976.

And, as it happens, it’s not too far from us either! Take a scenic drive from our shop here in Penrith along the A66, passing Bassenthwaite Lake, and you’ll soon reach Cockermouth - where it all began 🚗⛰️

Sometimes it’s not just about the fudge... it’s what you do with it! 🥰

A lovely lady recently popped into the shop and showed us these beautiful little favours she’d made using our fudge as a thank you to her colleagues at the end of term.

Each one had a little piece of fudge, tucked inside a hand-decorated pillow box, complete with its own thoughtful message. 💛

We thought the time, care and creativity that had gone into each one was absolutely lovely. So we wanted to share it with you! We’re sure they meant a lot to everyone who received them!

If you ever get creative with our fudge or toffee, we’d love to see it! Whether you’re making cute gifts, using our treats in a recipe, or taking them somewhere particularly gorgeous or unusual, tag us or send us a photo. 📷

It’s been a summer full of fudge, friendships, and plenty to be proud of.

We kicked things off with a stall at the Lord Mayor’s Curry Lunch at Guildhall, raising money for the . A wonderful day and a real privilege to be part of.

We’ve also been out and about visiting our wonderful stockists. Locally, we’ve been all over the place, including a visit to - one of our longest-standing customers and soon to be neighbours!

But we haven’t kept it just local. We headed down to the big city to visit , where we finally got to meet Hazel and Julia after far too long. If you’re ever in Chelsea, you absolutely must pop in - and make sure you look out for the most jaw-dropping tote bag we’ve ever seen!

We also visited and met Jim, where we were completely in awe of the incredible collection of edible treasures packed into their little shop in Brixton Market.

Another special visit was to ING Bank - a relationship that stretches back around 100 years. Our founder, Annie Furness, wowed some of the bank’s partners with her fudge back in the early 1900s, and to this day they still serve it with coffee on special occasions. An incredible story and a reminder of our rich heritage, and of the very special lady who started it all. 

And of course, it’s always a pleasure catching up with Andrew from every week or so, as he collects his bags of toffee to create those delicious tipples.

We’ve also been making plenty of progress with the new shop, as you may have seen. Things have been happening. Lots of things. We’re bursting with excitement and can’t wait to share a proper update with you soon.

Finally, we’re incredibly proud to have been named a finalist in the Cumbria Tourism Awards. We’re looking forward to celebrating with everyone at the results evening, and we want to say a huge thank you again to for the nomination and continued support.

Here’s to another season. May it bring just as many smiles, memories, and moments of excitement. X
