Here's a sobering thought. The only thing connecting your car to the track is four patches of rubber, each roughly the size of a postcard. That's it. That's the difference between a clean lap and a gravel trap.

Which is why tyres are the best place to invest your budget. But here's the good news. You don't need to spend top end money to get proper track performance.

The Nankang NS-2R is the budget track day staple. Stiff sidewalls, predictable breakaway, and grip that punches well above its price tag. It's been the go-to for years because it works.

The Zestino Gredge 07RS is the newer contender. Designed and tested in Japan, softer compound, and a motorsport feel at a fraction of the premium price. Its wet weather grip is genuinely impressive for a semi-slick.

Both are road legal. Both will transform your track day. Both are available from us.

Your contact patch deserves better. It doesn't have to cost a fortune.

There’s always an excuse not to go. But Saturday morning, 12th September, Demon Tweeks HQ?

There’s guaranteed to be a lineup of metal that’ll make you wish you’d brought a better camera.

Last time we were treated to such delights as an JZX100 drift car. Ascona 400 restomod. R5 Fiesta kit car. Rocket Bunny GT86. S15 1J. Supra. Nismo GTR. A Jaguar restoration so clean it hurts. And that was just the tip of the iceberg!

Supercharged isn’t the average car meet. It’s the one you’ll be hearing about for weeks after. Don’t be the one who missed it.

A K24 frank engine is Honda at its modular best. A K24 block for displacement, bolted to a K20 head for high-flowing, high-revving character. The result is 270bhp of naturally aspirated fury that just keeps pulling.

Getting that power to the ground takes more than just a diff. A close-ratio gearset is the key: it keeps the revs pinned in the power band, minimising the drop between shifts so that K-series stays singing exactly where it wants to be. The Dunlop Direzza DZ03Gs do the rest.

Massive 6-pot calipers and PBS Pro pads bring it all back under control. Red Recaro Pole Positions contrast the white paintwork, while aero tweaks help the Dunlops generate the grip to keep this EP3 putting in fast laps.

A properly developed track car like this shares its DNA with a full-on race car. That's where we come in - supplying the parts to dial in the setup, bring the lap times down, and turn the fun up to the max.

Big thanks to for taking the time to tell us about his build.

If this inspires you to get on track yourself, we're trackside again with MSVT at Oulton Park on 16th September for a novice day aimed at first-timers. Sign yourself up and get out there.

This is why we love Supercharged.

A genuine Ford Es**rt Maxi Kit Car turns up, and suddenly the car park is a history lesson.

For the uninitiated, F2 Kit Cars were a wild time in rallying. A naturally aspirated, front-wheel-drive category that, on tarmac, was often quicker than the headline turbocharged 4WD WRC machinery. Lighter, nimbler, and absolutely committed, they became true giant killers and forced the FIA to rethink the regulations. This was the golden era of the Es**rt Cosworth's little brother, elevated to factory rally weapon status.

This particular car has been kept alive and improved. The original high-strung Mountune engine was rare and expensive to maintain, so it's since been replaced with a fully built and developed Duratec, offering more power, reliability, and a much less stressful life at the redline.

It's also packed with the kind of kit we know inside out. Pro Race 1.2s on Kumho rubber. AP Racing brakes. Aero catches, braided lines, catch cans, Sparco seats and harnesses, Stilo intercoms, and a full competition-spec electrical system. The kind of stuff that keeps a historic car competitive on the stages today.

Matthew Lewis from MDA Motorsport has built and maintained a special piece of history here. And it's exactly the kind of metal that makes our Cars and Coffee events worth the trip.

Our next one is 12th September. See you there.

Whether you're lapping in a 911 GT2 RS or a £1000 MX5 round the track, the principles are the same. Protection first. Comfort second. Confidence third.

The car gets the attention. But the gear, like the Stilo ST6 GT Carbon helmet and Alpinestars Tech-1Z boots you see here are what keep you safe. We stock everything from entry-level helmets to pro-level racewear, and our team has the experience to help you find the right balance of performance and budget.

Because the right gear doesn't just protect you. It lets you focus on the driving. And that's what you're there for.

First track day jitters? We get it. It can be quite the thing to get on track.

It's simple though: Book a day. Bring your car (daily, project, whatever). Buy your own helmet (we've got loads and know our stuff). The rest is just turning up and having a go.

You don't need a race car. You don't need to be fast. You just need to be there. And most importantly, just enjoy it.

We're trackside again with MSVT at Oulton Park on the 16th September to offer help, advice, and products. This time it's a day aimed at novices. Perfect if you've been thinking about it but weren't sure where to start.

And here's the extra nudge. Sign up to our email newsletter and you could win a free place on track.

Is white the ultimate JDM car colour? This Evo VII makes a strong case.

White over bronze Strom DS-F55 wheels. Michelin Pilot Sport 5s. A smattering of carbon vents to release under-bonnet heat. It's clean, purposeful, and unmistakably JDM.

Under the bonnet, HKS adjustable pulleys sit behind a clear cam belt cover—pure JDM detailing. The same purple hue carries through the chassis bracing and brackets, tying the bay together. Out back, an HKS rear silencer with a fat tip sits perfectly.

The Evo VII itself is a rare sight here. With only 477 officially registered in the UK, you're far more likely to see a Ferrari on the road than one of these. It was the first generation to be officially rolled out in the UK, following the Evo VI's success through the Ralliart dealer network, but low numbers and the march of time have made it a genuine rarity.

This is the kind of metal we love seeing at Supercharged Cars and Coffee. If you've got something interesting to bring, or just want to see what turns up, our next event at our Wrexham HQ is 12th September. Link for tickets in Bio.

Oulton Park. Done.

Thanks to MSVT for hosting us once again at their latest Oulton Park track day. We saw a proper mix of metal and intent. Meticulously prepared E36s on track, a Honda-powered 205 CTi (yes, you read that right!) giving it everything, a TCR Seat race car showing what proper machinery looks like, and our competition winner Mark in his 200bhp NB MX5 holding his own against some proper serious cars.

Performance BMWs were the flavour of the day. There was some serious pace on display, with drivers clearly getting the most out of their machines.

We were happy to be on hand with product and advice. Good to chat with so many of you between sessions.

The next one is 16th September, and it's a novice day for cars and bikes. Perfect if you've been thinking about getting on track but weren't sure where to start.

Small enough to mount in arm's reach. Big enough to save your car.

The Fire Safety Stick is a compact, flair-sized extinguisher that packs a serious punch. No mess, no residue, and it works on any type of fire. No maintenance, 15-year life, and impossible to activate accidentally.

Low cars + dry grass is a risky combination. This is cheap insurance against the worst happening.
