I recently had the pleasure of popping into Henry’s Books in Spearfish, SD. This local / family owned Bookshop makes my heart happy 🩵 They have a super cool program, a used book section, a new book section with the latest titles (even a few signed copies!), a kiddie corner.... and did I mention that the that owns the shop are just super sweet people who deserve all of the success?!?!

I filled an entire box full of to bring back to NC with me!!!

This was fun!

❤️ A little back story .... in April 2026, I participated in Lake Norman Bookpalooza. It was a blast and my sister flew from South Dakota to join the bookish festivities.
👉 Being the planners that we are, we decided to drive by the event location the day prior to get a feel for things like parking, walking distance, timing... etc. While checking it out, we ran into Kat & Jesse (the event coordinators) and in our quick little chat we discovered that Kat's daughter moved to the same middle of nowhere town that my sister lives in!
🩵 FUN FACT: every summer since my daughter was one, we have taken an annual trip to South Dakota to visit family.
👉 Learning about this annual trip, Kat reached out with a request to send her daughter some love from across the map! I grabbed flowers and Chick-Fil-a sauce (there's no CFA in this town but it's a tragedy that will soon be remedied... Hopefully the packets in her bouquet will tide her over until it's opening)
💙 Yesterday, my sister and I went out to explore local bookshops in honor of and we popped into Mitzis Books with a special delivery for the sweetest bookstore clerk from her awesome mom!

All in all it was very fun!
