Sarah Hanson will be in conversation with Dr. Melanie Sue Hicks on Sunday, October 4th at 7:15pm!

Sarah's new book Conjuring the Hurricane is a survival memoir-in-verse about leaving an abusive relationship and rebuilding a life after trauma. A clear-eyed story of courage, self-trust, and choosing to live.

Here's what Elizabeth Gilbert has to say about it: "Sarah Hanson's poems flash and cut like unsheathed knives in this important, memorable collection. As she writes her way out of the horrors of domestic violence and into the realm of hard-earned freedom, she pulls the reader's heart along with her. I can't remember the last time I cared so much, and felt so invested in a new author."

Hey all, Matt here!

West Side Books & Curios is 29 years old this month!

Established in 1997. West Side Books started as a mostly used bookshop.

2026 has been a significant year for us. We downsized in January.

We transform with our neighborhood.

We carry an array of books new and used and have become a hub for ordering in books too!

We are so thankful to our customers and neighborhood peeps who pop in.

29% off all used books for 29 days!

A party set for September 26th (because Saturday seemed like a good day)

Cool author events too.

Check our website: westsidebooks.com

Please like, share, re-share, annoy people, whatever needs to be done to get books into hands.

Sincerely,

Matt & The Bookelves
