Got to send my beautiful daughter Holly who’s growing up so fast off to homecoming tonight. We’ve only been in each other’s lives a year and a half, and getting to share moments like this means more than I know how to say. You looked absolutely beautiful, princess. Start appreciating the people in your life who DON’T blow smoke up your arse.

The ones who tell you the truth.

The ones who challenge you.

The ones who call you out when you’re wrong instead of feeding your feelings just to make you feel better.

Because sometimes your feelings and emotions aren’t telling you the truth.

Sometimes you need someone who cares enough to say:

“Mate, you’re wrong.”
“You need to look at yourself.”
“You can do better than this.”

And that person might p**s you off in the moment… but they might be exactly the person you need.

🔥 Great friends tell you the truth because they want you to become better.

They’re not trying to destroy your confidence.
They’re trying to build your character.

Be careful of people who constantly agree with everything you say just to stroke your ego.

Someone who lies to you to make you feel good isn’t necessarily your friend.

A real friend will sometimes tell you what you DON’T want to hear because they care about who you’re becoming.

So today, appreciate those people.

Don’t surround yourself with people who protect your ego.
