Some local businesses aren’t just places we shop. They become part of our family’s story. ❤️
This week’s Friday Favorite is one that’s especially close to our hearts — Butterfields Florist in Farmington, Missouri! 💐
Butterfield’s has been part of the Farmington community for generations, helping families celebrate life’s happiest moments and offering comfort during some of their hardest.
And we can personally attest to that history!
Butterfield’s provided the beautiful flowers for our wedding 20 years ago. And we recently confirmed with my mother-in-law that they also created her wedding bouquet more than 50 years ago!
That’s two generations of wedding memories, more than three decades apart, with flowers from the same hometown florist. How’s that for a lasting legacy? ❤️
But today, we’re not just celebrating Butterfield’s history. We’re celebrating its next chapter!
Meet Gracie, the new owner of Butterfield’s! 🌸
Gracie and her husband, John, moved their family to Farmington in 2025 after falling in love with our small-town community. She’s a wife, mother of three, Coast Guard veteran, and registered nurse who’s now adding local business owner to an already impressive list of roles!
And while ownership has changed, Gracie wants everyone to know that the Butterfield’s you’ve come to know and love isn’t going anywhere.
The talented team is staying, and weddings will continue to be an important part of what they do — from bridal bouquets and ceremony flowers to reception centerpieces and everything in between.
And we’re happy to report that Butterfield’s is still delivering!
We actually turned to Butterfield’s again just this week for my wife’s birthday. She’s a big fan of all things vintage and granny-core, so we gave them a rather unusual request: something old-fashioned, cozy, and maybe even involving a goose. 🪿😂
And boy, did they deliver!
The Butterfield’s design team absolutely knocked it out of the park! They created something that couldn’t have suited her personality better, and she absolutely LOVED it!

More than 50 years after creating my mother-in-law’s wedding bouquet, Butterfield’s is still helping our family celebrate life’s special moments.
Different ownership, but the same care and creativity that have made Butterfield’s a Farmington favorite for generations. ❤️
And Gracie has some exciting plans for the future, too!
She’s looking to introduce unique gifts, seasonal offerings, creative workshops, and even a Bloom Bar! You’ll also notice a slight name change to Butterfields Floral & Gifts, reflecting the shop’s growing offerings while honoring the name and reputation that local families have trusted for decades.
We love seeing someone embrace the history of a local business while bringing fresh ideas and enthusiasm for its future.
And Gracie, we think you’ve picked a pretty wonderful community to call home!
