Local talent .at.best, signs with care! 🐸🖊️

Philly’s own writer, illustrator, and comic creator Matt Emmons rolled through Atomic City Comics to hand-deliver fresh copies of his latest graphic novel, The Council of Frogs. He took the time to personally sign every single copy right at our front counter; some even feature custom little sketches on the title page!

📝Got a bit nostalgic while sittin' starin' at the comic book long boxes, lined with classics, here at Atomic City Comics. There's a lost art hidden in the back issues of our favorite runs, and we gotta give classic comic book ads the respect they deserve. Flippin' through vintage issues ain’t just about the main story; that jawn is a time-capsule portal into wildly creative graphic design and marketing that built the hype for the culture we know and love today.

Lookin' back at legendary campaigns like the Clark Bar sweepstakes, you have to wonder what happened to the lucky fans who won a trip to Gotham City. Where is that at?! Somewhere out there, some reader won the ultimate prize and got immortalized in a DC Comics panel; who are you, and where is that cameo!? That kind of interactive magic set the stage for publishers to connect directly with the community.

Then you have the pure, unfiltered soap opera drama of Marvel’s Inferno campaign. Those X-Men teasers didn’t just advertise a crossover; they sold a haunted flavor of tea, demanding your attention with striking portraits and sinister promises of betrayal that forever changed the mutant landscape.
