With more than 100 riders, a new Cycle Quest champion crowned, and over $17,000 raised in support of broadening access to bikes, this year’s Cycle Quest was the best yet! We could not have done it without you– the riders, volunteers, and our amazing sponsors make this a real community event. THANK YOU!

We had such a fun time watching everyone lean into the silliness of this event and fully commit to our carefully crafted day of shenanigans. From climbing out of North Portland’s Dog Bowl park without shifting, to getting absolutely soaked in the Salmon Street Fountain. Beyond to the Aerial Tram high about the South waterfront, and all of the literal obstacles in between, riders’ spirits were high the entire time.

5 cool things from a lap around the bike shop this week!

1. Original Quickbeam! This bike is now for sale after getting some TLC. Priced at $1,100 - "beausage" included.

2. Vintage Campagnolo jersey - the long sleeves might be a little warm for summertime aperitivo but perfect for early morning espresso.

3. Very cool frame swap in the stand. Customer is going from a Makino to a Soma Rush for some added tire clearance and cargo practicality. We're excited to see how this one turns out!

4. Carl's parking lot tomato plant is looks to be almost ready to be harvested!

We have a jam-packed summer full of Camps this year with elementary and middle school students all over Portland, providing a fun environment to learn bike safety and build confidence riding. At Bike Camp we provide all of the equipment needed, and at the end of each week campers get to take home their bikes so they can continue riding long after the session ends.

Camp days are filled with lots of games, snacks, and riding to fun destinations while building memories with youth we hope will stay with them for the rest of their lives.

With Cycle Quest only a month away NOW is the time to rally your friends and register to ride!

Cycle Quest is a points based scavenger hunt by-bike. There are time cut-offs but there’s no weight given to however fast or slow you complete the route. Based on this fact, we think the best teams are well-rounded ones– teams that bring a little bit of everything to the table. If we were tasked with assembling the ultimate Cycle Quest team it would look something like this:

🧭 Navigator - someone who knows the best bike routes

📚 Trivia wiz - someone who knows a little about everything

🚴‍♀️ Trickster - someone with good bike handling skills

🧐 Puzzler - someone who loves riddles

😎 Chiller - someone who keeps the group vibes high

No team? No problem. You can choose to compete solo too!
