When calls and asks you to carve pumpkins for the Halloween show, you say yes!! If you were lucky enough to be there, we’d love to see a pic of all our creations on stage! I’m not gonna lie, I felt like Jack Skellington delivering all of this precious cargo… thank you so much for the opportunity and thank you to my amazingly creative team for all your help! 🎃

We have some exciting news to share! The Works Seattle has been nominated for an Intentionalist | Your Guide to Intentional Spending award in the Arts & Creative Economy category. We are so honored to be recognized for the creative community we have built together with all of you.

The nomination window has been extended to this Wednesday, Oct 28th, so you still have a couple days to nominate your favorite small businesses! We nominated two of ours, The Neighborhood and The Handmade Showroom, because they make Seattle a more creative and connected place.

Thank you so much to this amazing community for your support. We truly could not do this without you and we are so excited to open NEXT MONTH!!

The cat’s outta the bag! If you saw us at Harvest Festival today, you are among the first to know that our grand opening celebration is Saturday, November 28, on Small Business Saturday. We are so excited! We’ve been building this space since May (!!), and there are approximately one million things to get done between now and then, but here is what we have planned and we hope to see you all there!

The day kicks off at 10am with a ribbon cutting (with the big golden scissors!) with the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce. The first 25 guests in line will receive a tote bag with some surprise goodies inside. The first 75 guests will make a free air plant terrarium ornament at our Maker Bar. We’re planning a big balloon arch installation by Love Blooms, a coffee pop-up, and a photo booth! Our retail section will be stocked and ready to go, and Maker Bar reservations will be available (soon!!) for that afternoon.

Mark your calendar and bring your friends and family! We literally can’t wait to celebrate with you! After 8 years in business, this is our forever home, and we hope it shows.

We are officially flush with candy for the Junction Harvest Festival this Saturday! I will admit that our supply has gotten a little smaller this week, since certain members of my family keep “taste testing” it when they think I am not looking. Not to worry! There is still plenty left for you.😅 Stop by our new shop at 4540 California Ave SW to grab a treat and say hello. While you are there, sign up for our list so you are the first to hear about our opening. We hope to see you this weekend!

We are hopefully about a month away from opening our doors in Alaska Junction, and here is a sneak peek at some of the goods we will be stocking! I’m no retail buyer but I have enjoyed the late nights scrolling through all of the incredible makers on Faire. Our new shop will carry goods from independent makers alongside our own DIY Kits. Tell us in the comments if there is a maker or brand you’d love to see us stock! PS thank you to my family for putting up with the seemingly endless stream of boxes!!

Wreath season is back, and this year it’s happening in our brand new West Seattle studio! 🌲

These clips are from wreath workshops at our old shop, and we can’t wait to make new memories in our new space next month. Too bad there isn’t smell-o-vision, but I can tell you the smell of these fresh PNW greens is the best.

Grab a friend (or just grab yourself!), pick your greenery, and leave with a wreath you made with your own two hands. You don’t need any experience! We’ll guide you through every step.

Kellie and Ashley are both over the moon excited to be back teaching again at The creative entrepreneur and craft camp 2027! What is Craftcation? A magical week spent crafting, learning, and connecting in Ventura Beach. If you are Craftcation-curious, drop me a line. I would be more than happy to share my experience with you.

During our eight years, we’ve had friendships forged, first dates, a proposal (!!), anniversary celebrations, we taught somebody a new skill and then we saw them years later selling their work at Urban Craft Uprising, the list of magic moments just keeps growing. Now we are so very excited to bring our unique brand of programming to the West Seattle community.

With the shop construction wrapping up soon, it is time for us to close our fundraiser. We have been blown away by your support, and I don’t want you to miss your window to claim these one-of-a-kind rewards. When this campaign closes on October 15 (that is in 2 day!), they are gone for good. So if you’ve been meaning to, get on it and while you’re at it, tell your friends!

We have made so much progress! Asbestos abated and original floors restored, ADA bathroom built, a cash wrap custom built for our Maker Bar. There is still so much to be done, including a new exterior sign that I’m so excited about (it is illuminated!), painting the mural, wallpapering and tiling the bathroom, a custom upholstered bench seat for the front window, the tables, retail, etc. Oh, and our new HVAC unit… details. 😂

We are targeting early November for opening. Thank you for all of your support and birthday inquires and stopping by to see us. I can’t wait to share this space with all of you.
