This Conn 6M Alto has the character players look for in these great old horns, including that sweet tone and big, Basie Conn sound, but it’s also been through the Sax ProShop for a complete Überhaul and some thoughtful updates to make it easier to play, regulate, and maintain.

The original engraving remains, the horn has been taken down to a beautiful bare-brass finish, and the result is a vintage 6M with plenty of personality that's ready for its next player. 🎷And right now, it’s specially priced for Saxtember!

We’re heading into the final stretch of the sale, and Saxtember ends September 30. If a great vintage Conn has been on your list, now is the time to take a closer look. One horn. One new owner. When it’s gone, it’s gone! Shop Saxtember at the link: https://www.musicmedic.com/products/saxtember-specials.html

🔧 Good work is in the details. Every screw tightened, every adjustment made, and every material chosen becomes part of an instrument that goes back into a musician’s hands. During reassembly, we use the tools and supplies we trust on our own bench—including our reliable woodwind screwdrivers and our UltiMax Lubricant System. Quality materials matter, even in the places the player may never see. 👓

For us, that’s part of what Saxtember is about: celebrating the technicians behind these great instruments and the care that goes into keeping them playing their best.

Good tools. Good materials. Good work. Happy Saxtember! 🎷

🎷 For the Balanced Action crowd, this one deserves a closer look. Our Selmer Dorsey Alto Sax sits in the desirable 28k serial range—a sweet spot in this model’s production and a particularly interesting horn for players and collectors who love the Balanced Action family.

Yes, it has a well done vintage relacquer, even with it this horn is still an absolute stunner! More importantly, it has that thick, syrupy tone that makes saxophones from this era so much fun to play. This one has been through the Sax ProShop and received our Überhaul, so it’s been thoroughly prepared and is ready for its next player.

🎷 And for Saxtember, it’s on sale! Vintage horns like this don’t come through the shop every day. If a Dorsey from the right era has been on your list, this is one worth checking out!

Ryan covers the details that matter—from understanding how the instrument works and diagnosing problems to the techniques, adjustments, and procedures needed to produce consistent results at the bench.

🎷 Love your vintage sax, but not the vintage thumb rest? Our Comfort Thumb Hook is a simple way to add a more comfortable, modern feel to a horn you already love.

For saxophone players, it’s an easy upgrade you can install yourself—especially useful for vintage horns with an uncomfortable or worn original thumb hook. For repair technicians, it’s also a quality replacement part, with an optional adapter kit available for solder-on applications. Sometimes a small change can make a big difference in how an instrument feels in your hands.

🔧 And since it’s Saxtember, the Comfort Thumb Hook is included in our special saxophone accessory pricing through September 30. Keep the vintage character. Upgrade the comfort: https://bit.ly/4xF8pwn

🎷 What if you could take pad leveling out of the repair? That’s exactly what Neo Pads are designed to do. They self-level to the tone hole, so instead of spending time leveling pads, you can focus on adjusting materials, getting the horn playing the way it should, and getting it back to the musician faster.

Neo Pads can make pad work faster on any level of saxophone, eliminating the traditional pad-leveling step from the repair. Take a look at the video—you’ll see us tweaking the timing while the Neo Pads take care of the leveling.

🔧 Even better, Neo Pad sets are specially priced for Saxtember! If you’ve been wanting to try them, September is a great time to stock up and see how much time self-leveling pads can save.🎷 Saxtember runs through September 30.
